Virtual Consulting Projects | Study Abroad Online | IAU
In this experience, students will engage in an industry-specific consulting project led by a professor in partnership with international organizations, where the organizations present a problem for the students to solve. Students apply strategic consulting practices to provide recommendations on how the organization might solve the issue/problem at hand. At the end of the course, students share their recommendations with the organization through a virtual professional presentation.

Examples of previous consulting project placements include:

Euro-Meditérranée Urban Development Agency: The mission is to design, develop, and build a sustainable Mediterranean "city of tomorrow” in the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis. Students support the agency with research in the areas of international trade and foreign investment.

Sustainable Fashion Manufacturing: The objective of this consulting project involves launching a company based on the “slow fashion model” alongside a professional consultant in the sustainable fashion industry. This model focuses on local providers, use of local and sustainable materials, use of original and local designs, and sustainable production.

CON 342: Global Consulting Projects (3 credits) - In this course, students apply the core elements of organizational consulting to real-life scenarios across a variety of industries. A large part of the course contains an industry-specific consulting project led by a professor in partnership with international organizations, where the organizations present a problem for the students to solve. Students work in groups and use strategic consulting practices to provide recommendations on how the company can optimize the social, managerial, and technological aspects of organizational performance. At the end of the course, students share their recommendations with the organization through a virtual professional presentation. |
