Student Life

IAU offers an enriching and thoughtful Student Life Program during semester, summer, and academic year programs. Students have access to optional extracurricular activities such as excursions, volunteering, lecture series, conferences, workshops, discussion groups, events with local university students, and more. Students also have a full program of activities integrated into their coursework including field studies, credit-bearing internships, trips, and more. 

During their time at IAU, students are expected to behave studiously, participate in their classes and field studies, and look for ways to round out their experiences abroad. IAU encourages students to integrate fully while abroad and provides avenues and support to do so.

In addition to a wide range of activities both in and out of the classroom, students also have access to the IAU Student Life staff who coordinate on-site orientation, the IAU health and wellness program, housing, and student services support as well as re-entry and alumni programs.
