The following financial policies apply to all IAU study abroad campuses and programs:

PROGRAM FEES
Program Fees vary by program so we encourage you to visit the Program Fees page. For information on making payments to IAU, payment options, and deadlines please visit our Payments Page. All students participating in IAU programs are held to IAU's financial policies. Students participating in IAU programs through another organization are held to that organizations' financial policies. Failure to comply with these policies may impact student participation in the program as well as ability to receive an official transcript.
ENROLLMENT DEPOSITS
Students are responsible for a $1,000 enrollment deposit due with their application ($1,500 for J-Term applicants and $250 for virtual program applicants). This amount will be deducted from the total tuition portion of the student's final invoice. Please see the Cancellation Policies section below for additional information regarding deposit refunds.
To cancel enrollment in a program, applicants - or their sponsoring institution - must send an email to enroll@iau.edu outlining the reasons behind the cancellation. Financial policies related to student cancellation or program suspension are as follows:
Please note for cancellations from the Early Start Program less than 30 days prior to the Early Start Program Arrival Date, a $250 cancellation fee will be assessed.
J-Term Applicants:
Program Start Date refers to the Arrival Date listed on the J-Term Program page.
- If the student is waitlisted for their chosen program and they do not wish to enroll in a different available J-Term program, the enrollment deposit will be refunded.
- 45 days or more prior to program start date: full refund of all fees paid, excluding the enrollment deposit for cancellations after October 15
- Between 44 – 15 days prior to program start date: 75% of all fees paid will be refunded, excluding the enrollment deposit
- 14 days or less from the program start date: 50% of all fees paid will be refunded, excluding the enrollment deposit
- As of program start date or after: no refunds
Program Start Date refers to the Arrival Date listed on the Academic Calendars page. NOTE: If you are enrolled in the Early Start Program, Program Start Date refers to the Early Start Program Arrival Date as listed on the Academic Calendars page.

- As of program start date or after: no refunds

- Between 29-15 days prior to the program start date: 75% of of all fees paid will be refunded, excluding the enrollment deposit
- 14 days or less from the program start date: 50% of all fees paid will be refunded, excluding the enrollment deposit
- As of program start date or after: no refunds
DEFERRALS/TRANSFER OF MONIES PAID
Accepted students may defer their enrollment and monies paid for up to one year (from their original intended term of enrollment). Students who defer are not required to submit additional paperwork, but IAU reserves the right to contact the sending institution to confirm the student is still in good standing. Students may transfer monies paid to a future program.
EXCEPTIONS
Exceptions for illness, accident, or anything else out of the control of the student can be made. A written explanation along with supporting documentation must be sent to IAU's Office of Admissions. Their decision is final.
VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES PROGRAMS

Students participating in IAU programs through another organization are held to that organization's financial policies. - Student Cancellation: Program Start Date is the official start date published on the Virtual Semester or Virtual Summer Experiences page.
- 15 days or more prior to program start date: full refund of all fees paid, including the $250 deposit
- Within 15 days of program start date: 75% of tuition will be refunded
- As of program start date or after: no tuition refunds
