Alumni Home

Since its inception in 1957, IAU has acquired an alumni roster of over 25,000 students; it has played a major part in preparing teachers, diplomats, linguists, international educators and administrators, Peace Corps professionals and business women and men for their role in the present-day world.

IAU loves to connect with its alumni from all academic years. IAU often hosts receptions and reunions for its alumni to reconnect and share stories and memories from their time at the Institute. Please register for an alumni account to connect with old classmates and keep IAU informed of your most current endeavors and contact information. Contact alumni@iau.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Looking for fellow alumni?

If you are an IAU alumna seeking contact with your former classmates, IAU’s Office of Alumni Affairs and Development can help in a few different ways:

Use the Alumni Search feature in your IAU Alumni Portal:

Log in to your IAU alumni account or create one if you are not already registered. Once you are logged in, you may use the Alumni Search feature to look up your classmates from the Institute. You will be able to search for alumni by first name, last name, and maiden name (if applicable).

Request our help by email:

If our alumni database contains an email address for your former classmate, we will forward your message to her/him. If your former classmate does not have an email address, but we do have a mailing address, you will be notified by return email and provide the option of having us forward a personal letter on your behalf (your alumna status will be confirmed—we do not release information directly to the non-IAU community). For assistance, please contact alumni@iau.edu.

Request our help by snail mail:

You are welcome to write a personal letter, place it in a sealed envelope with the name of your former classmate in the front center, and send this envelope to us in another envelope addressed to:

IAU Alumni Affairs and Development
409 Camino Del Rio South, Suite 200
San Diego, CA 92108

Upon receipt, we will complete the address and mail the letter for you.

IAU is committed to protecting the confidentiality of information that has been entrusted to its database, we do not release address or telephone numbers. If we receive a request from a non-alumna.us, an email or postcard will be sent to the alumna.us with the contact information of the person making the request.

Ms. Angela Komperda

IAU alumna Angela Komperda (Summer 2013) had two paintings displayed at the 12th annual Art in Motion Benefit curated by James Rondeau, curator of the modern wing of The Art Institute of Chicago. Ms. Komperda received a $1,000 second place award for her artwork. Below are photos of her two paintings. The tree painting was done at the Chateau Noir over the summer and the other painting was made in October in downtown Chicago on the Michigan Ave Bridge.

Since returning from studying at the Marchutz Core Art Program's summer session, Ms. Komperda has continued to paint and study artwork at different museums. The time she spent studying and working at the Marchutz Program renewed her drive as an artist and enriched her artistic sensibility and artwork. The professors, the depth of the program, and living in Aix-en-Provence contributed to an artistic experience like no other.

Ms. Mary-Grace Wallace

IAU alumna Mary-Grace Wallace (2012) recently launched WritefullyHis LLC. The GoUpState website posted the following regarding Mary-Grace's enterprise, "On Sept. 12, the recent Wofford College graduate celebrated the official launch of her business with a shindig at Hub-Bub’s Showroom in downtown Spartanburg. Wallace, 22, treated her guests, which included local and national business leaders, to a look at the full scope of the company’s foundation, mission and products. The colorful array of delicate paper products represented the means by which Wallace will help children in Uganda and other impoverished areas of Africa to get something that could drastically improve their lives—an education."

We wish Mary-Grace the best of luck in this endeavor.
