Study Abroad - Program Fees

IAU Tuition and Fees for Academic Years 2020-2022

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, IAU has decided to freeze its fees for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years. The below program fees represent costs for the following terms: Fall 2020, J-Term 2021, Spring 2021, Summer 2021, Fall 2021, J-Term 2022, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022.

Please Note: Program Fees shown below may not be applicable to students from IAU's partner institutions. If you are not sure if you attend a partner institution, please contact IAU's U.S. Office or your study abroad office for accurate cost information.

POLICIES/FEES FOR ALL PROGRAMS

  • A $1,000 grant, deducted from the spring semester invoice, is provided to qualified students who enroll for both fall and spring semesters at any IAU program.
  • A $1,250 grant, deducted from the Session C invoice, is provided to qualified students who enroll for both a Session B and Session C summer session at two of IAU's locations (for example: Aix-en-Provence and Barcelona; Tangier and Aix-en-Provence).
  • Students who enroll in a January Term Seminar and the spring semester at one of IAU's locations consecutively are eligible to receive a $2,000 grant credited to their spring semester invoice. In order to be eligible to receive the grant, students must participate in the Early Start Program during the week between the end of the January Term Seminar and the start of the spring semester. 
  • An additional fee of $150 will be charged for each course in the following disciplines: Wine Studies, Food, and Photography, including cross-listed courses.
  • Additional student costs include round-trip airfare, any meals not included in chosen housing option, and personal expenses. For J-Term programs, students should expect to purchase their textbooks.
  • Under certain circumstances, an additional fee for apartments applies. For more information, please contact enroll@iau.edu

Program Fee includes tuition for a full load of courses (12-18 credits), housing (demi-pension homestay with a French host, daily breakfast, and six dinners per week), orientation, textbook rental, insurance (health, liability, and repatriation), field study tours, and scheduled cultural activities.

Additional Fees:

  • $1,160 - art supply and trip fee for any students enrolled in the Marchutz Arts Core Program
  • $260 -  supply fee for any students not in the Marchutz Arts Core Program who wish to take a studio art course

Barcelona, Spain

12-week Fall 2020 Semester $14,575

Early Start Program

Semester students in Aix-en-Provence, France, Madrid or Barcelona, Spain are invited to join IAU for an optional week-long Early Start Program before their fall or spring semester abroad.

Inclusions: Program Fee includes tuition for the 1-credit language course, housing and insurance for one additional week, activities, and transportation.

J-TERM 

Due to the ongoing travel restrictions and health risks of the COVID-19 pandemic, IAU has canceled J-Term traveling programs for January 2021. IAU plans to instead host Maymester traveling seminars in May 2021. More information about these programs will be posted as it becomes available at www.iau.edu/maymester. Multi-Country Traveling Seminars

Inclusions: Program Fee includes hotel housing, continental breakfast every day and some evening meals, activity fee, intra-European transportation (by plane, train, or bus), scheduled cultural activities and academic visits, orientation fee, and health, liability, and repatriation insurance.
