Pre-Departure Requirements - January Term
Before students begin their J-Term program, there are several items that need to be submitted to IAU's U.S. Office. Please complete these in a timely manner by the listed deadlines.
- Enrollment Deposit - For students invoiced by IAU directly for the program deposit, the first half of the non-refundable enrollment deposit ($750) is due by the application deadline of October 1 and the second $750 deposit is due on or before October 15. (If an indicated deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, the deadline will be the closest weekday/business day to the intended deadline). Your enrollment in the program will not be secure until this payment is made. Details on refunds can be found on the Financial Policies page. You can pay your deposit by check or credit card. Additional details can be found on the Payment Options page.
Wellness and Accommodations Questionnaire - In order to better assist students while abroad, we request that students complete the Wellness and Accommodations Questionnaire. This information will allow IAU to provide support should health/mental health concerns arise during the study abroad experience, and particularly in the event of a health emergency. IAU may request additional documentation from students’ health care provider as part of their application. This documentation will provide guidance to IAU on how to best support students during their participation in the program.
Financial Assistance Form - If you are paying IAU directly and relying on financial assistance to cover all or a portion of your IAU tuition and fees, please download the Financial Assistance Form, complete your portion, and then have a financial aid advisor from your home institution complete their section and return it to IAU. Please upload your complete form through your student portal. This items is not applicable to all students.
Travel Itinerary - Please complete the online form through your student portal. Please do not purchase your airfare until you receive notification from IAU to do so. Upon receipt of this notification, you can purchase your airfare. IAU is not responsible for refunds or compensation for airfare purchased prior to this date should the program be cancelled or the itinerary altered for any reason.
IAU Post-Acceptance Waivers - Please complete the online form through your student portal.
COVID-19 Update: For the safety and well-being of all program participants, IAU-ACM is requiring all program participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to participate in all IAU-ACM programs starting with our J-Term 2022 programs and beyond. IAU-ACM considers a student fully vaccinated if they have received a complete set of injections, including booster shots if eligible. Students will be required to submit proof of vaccination to IAU-ACM's U.S. Office of Admissions prior to going abroad. Questions about this policy may be directed to IAU-ACM's U.S. Office of Admissions at email@example.com
Smart Traveler Enrollment Program - IAU recommends that all students register with the U.S. State Department's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). By enrolling in this system, the U.S. Embassy can keep students updated with important safety and security announcements. It will also help family and friends get in touch during an emergency. For more information and to register, please visit the STEP website.
Cancellation Policy - All students are held to IAU's Financial Policies when cancelling enrollment in an IAU program.
*If an indicated deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, the deadline will be the closest weekday/business day to the intended deadline.
