Alumni Fellows Program

We are currently only accepting applications for Alumni Fellows at our Aix-en-Provence campus and Barcelona center.

Are you interested in returning to ACM-IAU to share what you know about student life in Aix-en-Provence or Barcelona? As an experienced student at ACM-IAU, surely you can imagine the invaluable support you could provide as a welcoming mentor on-site. As you know, students often arrive unsure of exactly what to expect of the city, school, and culture. Thus, as a means for recent students (who have earned a BA) to gain teaching and international education experience, the Institute offers the Alumni Fellows Program to those ACM-IAU alumni willing to offer mentorship to Aix-en-Provence or Barcelona’s student body for an academic year.   

The Alumni Fellows Program is structured as follows:
  • Study Level: Postgraduate Study
  • Field of Study: International Education
  • Number of Credit Hours per Week: 12

The 12 credits that Alumni Fellows follow per week include: 
  • 9 credits of academic coursework in a discipline that aligns with the Fellow's academic and career goals
  • 3 credits of Student Life Internship 
What ACM-IAU covers during the term of your fellowship:
  • Housing in ACM-IAU apartments or residence
  • Tuition for up to 9 units of academic course study (3 credits over the Summer Session and 3 credits of internship hours)
  • Access to all facilities and ACM-IAU activities
  • Supervision with the Dean of Students (in Aix-en-Provence) or the Head of Student Affairs and Wellness (in Barcelona) (i.e., development of goals specific to the Fellow's interests and strengths, support for project progression/completion, etc.) 
Expenses to ACM-IAU Fellows:
  • Any transportation to ACM-IAU in Aix-en-Provence or Barcelona
  • Insurance under ACM-IAU’s plan ($270)
  • Food and any daily living costs except for while accompanying an Institute-organized activity
  • Costs associated with getting a visa
Requirements
  • An alum of ACM-IAU within the last three years
  • College Graduate (BA or higher)
  • Advanced level of French in Aix, and Spanish in Barcelona is beneficial

Duties and assistance during the 3 credits of internship hours, will include a combination of the following:

Office of Student Life:

  • Presence on-site for student support
  • Mentorship hours for current ACM-IAU students
  • Assistance on projects and events with Student Life staff 
  • Assistance with Institute-sponsored events (evening lectures, receptions, student welcome)
  • Assistance with logistics (preparation of student residence apartments, student arrivals, orientation, conferences)
  • In Aix-en-Provence: Reception hours at any of the buildings

Administrative Services:

  • Presence on-site for administrative support
  • Assisting the Provost/Director and Upper Administration in organization, filing, institute-wide communication and development 
  • Assistance on projects and events with Academic Programs staff 
  • Assistance with Institute-sponsored events (evening lectures, receptions, student welcome)
  • Assistance with logistics (preparation of student residence apartments, student arrivals, orientation, conferences)
  • In Aix-en-Provence: Reception hours at any of the buildings

Wine Studies Program:

  • Assistance on projects and events in Wine Studies
  • Assisting professors in the Global Wine Studies program (purchasing materials, setting up classes, preparing wine tastings, working in the ACM vineyards 
  • Assisting with the new ACM café

  • Current open positions include Fall 2025 & Spring 2026
